Welcome to the Brainsplinter Productions website. We are a lean and mean operation (read: small), but we have our eyes set on big targets. We are filmmakers. We have shot a few short films, a commercial, and are gearing up for our first feature film. Have a browse around and say hello if you like.

ATu0026#038;T spec commercial
We made this commercial as an entry in a mofilm.com commercial competition. There are four actors, including the filmmakers Dennis and Bob, each with four costumes. We shot over the course of five hours on a Sunday afternoon. Two of our favorite actors Mike Mergo and Lija Fisher helped us out. Our costumer Jen Learned and our makeup artist Mia Bauman really gave the production the look we wanted. [tube]GHIfYJq4j7k[/tube]
Sandwich Series
I was having breakfast with my friends Brett and Rachel at the Rutherford Pancake House about a week ago and Rachel pitched an idea to me that she had mentioned before. Two people standing at a refrigerator arguing over who ate the sandwich. She even posed the name, “The Sandwich Series,†which stuck. This is the premise for a fledgling series of scenes based on a simple scenario. Hey! Who took my sandwich? [tube]fXHj1sTXCe8[/tube]
Strange Kiss
This is a short scene Sarah Fay Preddy, Kevin Rothlisberger and I filmed on 19th St. in Manhattan in the fall of 2009. The idea for the scene was conceived just before shooting. It was written and shot in about 30 minutes. I shot this on my Canon EOS 7D HDSLR with a 35mm f 2 lens. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and color graded with Magic Bullet Looks. Description: An inmate gets a visit from one of his associates from the outside so they can talk “business.” A corrupt guard sets up the meeting in a secret room. The guard has only one rule, no swearing! This is a little project I threw together in a couple weeks. I had an idea for a scene involving a prison inmate and someone who cannot abide swearing. I wrote a script and showed it to my writing partner Bob. He completely rewrote it and gave it back. Then I merged the two using about 80% of his script and 20% of mine. My friends Brett and Roy were nice enough to volunteer their time. Unfortunately since I was in the scene and also the camera operator there are some closeup shots of me that are blurry. You just can’t get good help these days (and I apparently include myself in that). It was just a bit of fun so it’s not worth reshooting. For what it’s worth I hope you get some enjoyment out of it. We had fun making it. Sound design and mixing by Roy Yokelson of Antland Productions [tube]DWYtZLRmIz4[/tube]
